Pixie Dust Studio Gift Card Holder Challenge

I am totally digging this whole Christmas in July theme!!!  This week our challenge was to create a gift card holder.  I went with the basic card we did with Sherrie Siemens at the Copic certification class.

This image is from the newest Pixie Dust Release - the Nutcracker.  The paper is from Kaisercraft - Dear Santa.  I am enjoying all the holiday inspiration lately.

You can find my tutorial for this gift card holder... HERE.  I hope you will join us this week at PIXIE DUST STUDIO.

PIXIE DUST STUDIO NEW RELEASE!!!

When I was younger, my little sister was the dancer.  She was in our studio's performance of the Nutcracker.  I still remember watching her dance.  I believe my mom still has her costume, too.

She is colored with Copic Markers and I added some sparkle with the Copic Atyou pens.  The tulle really is straight, it just photographed weird.  I've been practicing coloring hair.  Lisa Futch, from CreativeK9s had a great video tutorial.  It helped out a lot.  The flower is from Prima and the dance paper is some we had at the store.

Anyway, today's Pixie Dust Studio THE NUTCRACKER release is fantastic.
I love Christmas in July.

I hope you will play along with Bella Design Studio.  Also check out the new Bella Forum.

Bella Design Studio Embellishment Friday & Meet Gherkin

It is my turn to share on the Bella Design Studio blog today for Embellishment Friday... This is my completed project, so you'll have to swing on by the Bella Studio blog to see what my tutorial was for today.  :)

So this is GHERKIN (Pickle's cousin- that makes me giggle) and she is available in the Bella Design Studio now.  I colored her with copic markers (using YG93, YG95, YG97)  I really like that color family.  The paper is from Kaisercraft.  And the ribbon is from Stampin' Up.  Be sure to join in the Bella Design Studio challenge this week!!

It's beginning to look a lot like.....

..... Christmas in July!  *grin*
Smiley from millan.net

I love the holidays and I'm so excited to be making Holiday cards and projects in the middle of summer (well, here I just call it "not quite winter").  Anyway, this week at Pixie Dust Studio the challenge is a color challenge. (one of my favorite combinations).

FOREST GREEN - CRANBERRY - IVORY.  I think this is a very elegant and classic combo.

With saying that, the image I chose this week is GRETA THE GREEN.  You see, the Grinch is one of my favorite Dr. Seuss characters, but isn't she charming... all green and all.  :)

I decked out Greta's outfit with some liquid applique.  I sprayed the flowers with glimmer mist.  The leaves are from a MS Punch.  The paper is Bo Bunny.  The ribbon is some from my hairbow making stash.  I'm still working on my red color combinations with my copic markers.  This time I used R32, R53, R37, R39.  I have a hard time with the reds.

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's work and play along.

Wishes for Bella Blog Hop

The Wishes for Bella will run until Noon EST on Monday, July 19th. Be sure to leave comments along the way and enter linky features for your chance at the prizes. And in case you want to know more about Bella, here is a link to her website, Bella Tucker. org.

For those not not familiar with what has been going on, there is a very special blog hop to bring some smiles to an AMAZING little girl named Bella. Bella is an 8 year old girl from NH, who over Easter came down with a near fatal infection that has left her without her arms and legs. She is very lucky to be alive as doctors didn't think she would recover from this illness. Bella is a true fighter and you can read more about her incredible story here: Bella's story as well as make donations if you would like. Erin over at Scrap, Stamp, and Be Merry came up with this awesome idea to host 4 blog hops, in order to shower Bella with some love and smiles from all over the world to show her how truly inspiring she is!

You can start the blog hop HERE with Denise.

There is an awesome Grand Prize too for all you Fabulous card makers out there that join us in our mission to fill Bella's mailbox with love. Check out the Grand Prize package here.

Christy asked The Stamping Boutique design team if we would be interested in 'sending smiles to Bella'.  Of course!!!

This is my card for Bella.  I used this darling image from The Stamping Boutique.  She is colored with copic markers.  The sentiment is from Verve Stamps.  The patterned paper is Basic Grey - Sugar Rush.  The hearts are nestabilities.

I hope you will consider "sending smiles to Bella"

Big day for Bella Design Studio

Daphne has been super busy drawing up some fabulous new cuties!!!!!
You can check them out HERE.

Today is also challenge day for Bella Design Studio.  Our challenge this week was distressing.  I chose one of the new images.  She is colored with Copic markers.  I used my edge distresser and then I embossed my bottom layer with a cuttlebug embossing folder and used a sanding block to distress it as well.  The flower is made from old book pages and colored with Smooch Spritz.  It was crumpled and then hit with the heat gun.

I hope you will play along.

Also, if you enjoy Bella Design Studio, you should check out our new forum & gallery!

My heart is sad...

Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd’st the mighty ocean deep
It’s own appointed limits keep
Oh hear us when we cry to Thee
For those in peril on the sea.

Lord, guard and guide the men who fly
Through the great spaces of the sky.
Be with them always in the air,
In darkening storms or sunlight fair
Oh hear us when we lift our prayer
For those in peril in the air.

Thoughts and prayers going out to the friends and families of
USCG Crew 6017.

Bella Design Studio Challenge Monday

TammyLee is the challenge boss this week for BDS Challenge Monday and her challenge....
CHALK

Ok, I had to dig out my chalks... pick out the ones that were broken to smithereens... and remember exactly how to use them.  *giggle*

This is Dee Dee.  I did color her with copic markers and then I went over the it with chalks to add some dimension and highlights.  The paper is from Kaisercraft.  I used a border punch on the purple layer to add some design elements.
I also chalked the clouds with a dauber and a stencil.
The sentiment is from Mint Motif's

Pixie Dust Studio - Red White Blue

I love this color combo... for 4th of July or just because.
I used the new Uncle Sam image from Pixie Dust Studio.  Isn't he charming?

The paper is from Kaisercraft.  I love this collection.  The sentiment is from Stamps of Life.  I also stitched my layers.  Uncle Sam is popped up to add some dimension (you can see that in the smaller picture above).

I'm not sure if we are going to do anything this weekend or not, maybe some camping.  They do fireworks at midnight on the 3rd (well, technically the 4th), and even then it isn't completely dark out.  One of those unique things with living in Alaska.  *grin*

I hope you will take the time this week to join us in this RED WHITE BLUE challenge.

Also don't forget to check out the sneak peeks for the upcoming release!
