The DigiShack - Wednesday Challenge

It's time for another Wednesday Challenge over at The DigiShack!
This week's challenge is a fab sketch!!!  I had a blast with this one.

This is one of my all-time favorite images from the DigiShack!  I {heart} Chickens n Roosters!!!  The sentiment is from Stamps of Life.  The paper is from the Peachy Keen Collection from Kaisercraft!  Isn't it yummy????

I really hope you will give this sketch a whirl!

Practical Scrappers & The Stamping Boutique

I'm really trying hard.  I haven't scrapped in years.  And I have to admit... I'M TOTALLY LOVIN' IT!!!!  This is for Practical Scrappers this week... the challenge RUB-ONS!  This paper and rubons are from Kaisercraft. I think this is my second layout using this same paper, but I just love it.

I used the Circus Carousel image from the Circus Collection from the Stamping Boutique.  I printed it out onto a transparency and colored with copic markers.

I love these pictures of Carlie.  She was only 3 1/2 and Jeff and I had just started dating.
Isn't she just the cutest lil thing???!!!

Please play along at PRACTICAL SCRAPPERS!!

Karen's Doodles Challenge #4 - Joint Blog Challenge

This is a special challenge this week.  It is a 'Joint Blog Challenge'.
You will definitely want to check out all the Karen's Doodles Blogs.

Our Challenge this week is from an inspiration piece provided by the KD Netherlands DT.

I decided to use Karen's FLOWER GIRL image.  The paper is some from my scrap box, so I'm not sure what brand it is.  The rhinestone flowers are from Kaisercraft.

I did make the paper with the grid on it.  It was an experiment with airbrush and some drywall tape (magic mesh).  It looks really cool in person.

Don't forget to check out the other blogs for some amazing inspiration from some incredibly talented design team members.

Fabulous Friday Challenge at I {heart} Copics on PCP

The challenge this week  is a sketch.  (I {heart} sketches)  *grin*

The image I chose is from Bildmalarna... available at www.paperjewels.com.
This image is Mimosa Butterfly.

How cute is she????

I'm slowly catching up on my DT stuff and some challenges.  I took last week to go visit my sister in Portland, Oregon.  One of my dearest friends joined me and we had a blast.  It was so relaxing and rejuvenating.  I shopped, ate, visited, drove faster than 50mph, ate and shopped some more.  It has been a while since I got to spend time with my sister.  I also got to see cousins I haven't seen in quite a while too.

Well, I hope you will check out the rest of the DT's inspiration at I {HEART} COPICS on PCP.

Love at First bite - Karen's Doodles Challenge #2

We are onto our next challenge on Karen's Doodles!!  This week is an Easter/Spring Theme.  I used a new Doodle from Karen called Love at First Bite!  It is kinda hard to think Spring when there are 60 mph winds and blowing snow outside.  No signs of spring here in Alaska yet.

This paper is from Cosmo Cricket - Garden Variety.  I colored the image with copic markers and added clouds and grass with chalk.  The button is from MM and the flower is Kaisercraft.  Oh yeah, I used the EK success border punch also.

I my border punches...  and I my markers....  and I pretty papers!!!

Karen's Doodles KIDS Challenge Blog

Karen's Doodles has set up a challenge blog for kids.  Today is the first challenge.  It was a recipe challenge from Callie.

1 Karen's Doodle
2 Patterned Papers
3 Buttons or Brads
and something BLACK

I used two of my favorite images from Karen.  Gods Lil' Angel & My Little Angel and merged them together, since Karen sends her digis as png's with a transparent background, this is really easy to do.

The paper is from Kaisercraft - Gypsy Sisters Collection.

And since this is a KIDS challenge.  Here is my "kid's" card.

So get those kiddos coloring and play along with us!!!

Watercolor Wednesday with The DigiShack

Yep, today is Watercolor Wednesday at The Shack!  I love this technique.  It was challenging at first trying to figure out how I was going to watercolor with digital stamps.  Here's what I did.  I printed them out on watercolor paper.  I heat set them really well.  I used my Stampin' Up watercolor pencils and a blender pen to color.  I just kinda stayed away from the lines so as to not smear the printer in (just in case).  I love how this turned out.

I hope you will join us.

RIP Fletcher

Fletcher was my parents beloved German Shepherd.
Fletch crossed that rainbow bridge today.

The Rainbow Bridge

inspired by a Norse legend

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

I'M LATE I'M LATE I'M LATE - Shrileys 2 Girls New Release

I'm totally behind today.  I've had a lil one home sick and that has thrown off my 'me time' completely.  And on top of that sometimes traveling on and off a small island in Alaska isn't always the most reliable.
Spent 4 hours in the airport waiting on a delayed flight... SO NOT FUN!!

Anyway, I'm late (how fitting, huh?!)!
This is the new WHITE RABBIT image from Shirleys 2 Girls!

The fabulous digi paper is from S2G as well.  Isn't it vivid and wonderful?!  I love it!  I colored Mr. White Rabbit with Copic markers.  He is popped up on pop dots to add a lil dimension.  The flowers are from my stash and the rhinestones are from CTMH.

Carlie will be posting her new release when she gets home from school.  You can check out her blog HERE.

Please join us in our challenges, too, on S2G!!
