Victoria Case Challenge #32 A BLACK TIE AFFAIR

Ok, I played a little with photoshop with this one.  I used two of Victoria's Pin Up images... Oh La La and Suspender Dude.  This card makes me giggle!!!  I hope you will all join us in one final challenge!

Wishing you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010!!!

This charming couple is colored with copic markers.  Mostly the N-greys.  I added some sparkle with the Sakura Stardust pen.  They were printed on Neenah Solar White Classic Crest.  The black is from I love the glitter paper from Petaloo.  And finally the striped patterned paper is from Kaisercraft.  The ribbon is some from my stash and the brads are from American Crafts.  Oh, and I got to use one of my new tag nestabilities!  Love them!

I hope you all have an amazing New Year and an even better 2010!

Whimsy challenge 33 - Chip off the Ol' Block

Our challenge this week is to use chipboard.  I had this chipboard label fro K&Co.  I airbrushed it with R37 first then I sprayed it with Holly Berry Glimmer Mist.  The sentiment says "Let there be peace on earth"  it is from Cornish Heritage Farms, but I thought it went perfectly with the Lamb image.

I hope you will check out the rest of the DT's inspiration HERE and join in with this challenge!!!!!

Whimsy Stamps Challenge - BLACK & WHITE

Ok, you would think black and white would be fairly easy, right?!  I must have changed my mind a hundred times on this card.

This image is the Bear (I suppose he could be a brown bear or a polar bear) from Whimsy.
You can find him (and his other furry friends) HERE.
The glitter paper is from Petaloo and the rhinestones and striped paper are Kaisercraft.
I've been experimenting with the different greys in my Copic collection.  I used the "N" greys on this image.  N1 and N3.

Shirleys2Girls - Twisted Thursday Challenge

Here is the TT sketch for this week, and the twist was glitter and/or bling.

Here is my card using one of S2G's digital stamps.... HOLIDAY TREE

This image is colored with Copic Markers and accented with a Sakura Stardust pen.  The star has diamond glaze and glitter on it.  The 'tinsel' also has some shine to it with the stardust pen.  The red Rhinestones are from Kaisercraft and the patterned paper is from Basic Grey - Eskimo Kisses.  The stocking charm came from Stamp & Create.  I also used an EK Success Dotted Scallop edger punch.  The ribbon is from my hairbow stash and the bow was made using the Bow Easy.

Holiday Wishes - Dog Gone Stamps & Cards for Men

Doesn't he look like he's having a great time?  You can find him HERE.  This is for the 'Cards for Men' Christmas theme challenge.  The paper is from Cosmo Cricket.  I cut him with one of the label nesties and then sponged Peeled Paint distress in before taking the image out of the die.  The sentiment is from Verve. The ribbon is from Stampin Up.

I just have to share...

On one of my yahoo groups I belong to, there is this blogger...
I mean, there is this amazing stamper/cardmaker.  I'm truly inspired by the cards and 'tidbits' posted.  Here's the thing... Bob (yep a guy) is an amazing cardmaker.  His blog is so informational.  He has a fabulous style with his cards and his coloring is just WOW!!!  Anyway, I just wanted to pass it along for any one looking for some inspiration.  Read his profile too!!!  He's truly a hero of mine.  You see, Bob is a retired US Army veteran.  Not your stereotypical paper crafter.  But I'm telling you, you will be amazed and inspired by his talent.  I know I am!!!
Smiley from millan.net

Thank you Bob, for your service to our country.  And for being my cardmaking hero as well!

FairyLand Dreams - A Challenge plus one

I just squeaked in under the deadline for the challenge 2 on the FairyLand Dreams group on PCP.  I adore Jennifer Nilsson's images.  I have some of her digistamps, but I also have an entire sheet of rubbah Mouserkins.  They are the most adorable images.  My first card is for the challenge on the PCP group.
The theme was Expression of Love.

The image is colored with Copic Markers.  I added some diamond glaze and super fine glitter to the star.  The sentiment is from Verve and is cut with a circle nestie.  The solid cardstock is Bazzill Bling and the pink patterned paper is from Kaisercraft.

Here is one more card I did tonight with another one of Jennifer's Mouserkins.

This one was colored mostly with the new 0000 Copics.  BV0000 and BG0000 I think.  I love how soft and pale they are.  The paper is from Kaisercraft and is called Lilac Ave.  The ribbon is from my stash and the pearls are Kaisercraft as well.  I added some small touches of the stardust pen to her wings.  The sentiment is from Verve.

One more Shirleys2Girls Card

Another on of the new images I received from the Shirleys2Girls Sale!
I colored it with Copic Markers. Added some diamond glaze and glitter to the candle, flame and the bells on the stocking.  The ribbon is from Stampin' Up.  The patterned papers is Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses.  The sentiment also came with the mouse image in the set.

Shirleys2Girls - Twisted Thursday Challenge

Here is the sketch the twist is to use foil/metal/tin on your card as well.

Here is my card.

This image is Rudolf.
Right now all the S2G clear stamps are 45% off!!!!!!  Fantastic deal and they are great stamps.

I colored him with Copic Markers.  The metal craft sheet is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  I added some smooch to his nose and the holly berries.  It is much sparklier in person.  :)

Shirleys2Girls is also having a Design Team call.  HERE.

Whimsy Stamps Challenge - Die Cuts

The challenge this week at WSC was to use die cuts.  I used one of the new images from Whimsy.  ISN'T HE THE CUTEST THING EVER????  I love that he is catching snowflakes on his tongue.  That is one of my favorite things to do, too.  He is colored with copic markers.  Then I masked off the deer and airbrushed the dark sky.  I also masked off and airbrushed the snow a very pale blue.  I also sprayed the entire image with Pearl Glimmer Mist.   I used my oval nestabilities to cut and emboss my image and to also do the scallop layer behind him.  The light blue paper is Bazzill bling and is embossed with the cuttlebug snowflake folder.  The snowflakes are from a Marthat Stewart Punch.  I topped them off with some rhinestones and rhinestones on the snowflakes.  *whew*  I think that is all of it.  This was a really fun challenge.  I hope you will join us.  Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's creations for some inspiration.

CHRISTMAS WISH BLOG HOP WITH MICHELLE PERKETT STUDIO

Hello Creative Goddesses!!!!

If you have arrived here from Nancy's blog, then you are on the right track.  If you would like to start from the beginning, hop on back to Michelle's blog.  You won't want to miss any of them.  At the end of the hop you will be voting for your favorite CHRISTMAS WISH/WISH ANGEL creation.
There is also a special lil 'something' at the end of the hop too.

My Wish Angel is colored with Copic Markers.  The stars and her cuffs are accented with Smooch.  Then the entire image was spritzed with Pearl Glimmer Mist.  The red paper is from American Crafts, the check paper is SEI and the Star paper is from my stash.

Michelle challenged us with the task of a CHRISTMAS WISH for someone other than ourselves.  As a military wife, my Christmas wish is for those families that cannot be together because of deployments, overseas tours, special duties and lost loved ones.  A wish of peace for the soldiers that are separated from their families.  The military family is a strong one.  They move, settle, make new friends, only to move again and start over.  I wish for happiness for these families and for their loved ones who serve our country.

The following poem was written by a Marine in Okinawa, Japan.

Twas The Night Before Christmas,
He Lived All Alone,
In A One Bedroom House
Made Of Plaster And Stone.

I Had Come Down The Chimney
With Presents To Give,
And To See Just Who
In This Home Did Live.

I Looked All About,
A Strange Sight I Did See,
No Tinsel, No Presents,
Not Even A Tree.

No Stocking By Mantle,
Just Boots Filled With Sand,
On The Wall Hung Pictures
Of Far Distant Lands.

With Medals And Badges,
Awards Of All Kinds,
A Sober Thought
Came Through My Mind.

For This House Was Different,
It Was Dark And Dreary,
I Found The Home Of A Soldier,
Once I Could See Clearly.

The Soldier Lay Sleeping,
Silent, Alone,
Curled Up On The Floor
In This One Bedroom Home.

The Face Was So Gentle,
The Room In Such Disorder,
Not How I Pictured
A United States Soldier.

Was This The Hero
Of Whom I'd Just Read?
Curled Up On A Poncho,
The Floor For A Bed?

I Realized The Families
That I Saw This Night,
Owed Their Lives To These Soldiers
Who Were Willing To Fight.

Soon Round The World,
The Children Would Play,
And Grownups Would Celebrate
A Bright Christmas Day.

They All Enjoyed Freedom
Each Month Of The Year,
Because Of The Soldiers,
Like The One Lying Here.

I Couldn't Help Wonder
How Many Lay Alone,
On A Cold Christmas Eve
In A Land Far From Home.

The Very Thought
Brought A Tear To My Eye,
I Dropped To My Knees
And Started To Cry.

The Soldier Awakened
And I Heard A Rough Voice,
"Santa Don't Cry,
This Life Is My Choice;

I Fight For Freedom,
I Don't Ask For More,
My Life Is My God,
My Country, My Corps."

The Soldier Rolled Over
And Drifted To Sleep,
I Couldn't Control It,
I Continued To Weep.

I Kept Watch For Hours,
So Silent And Still
And We Both Shivered
From The Cold Night's Chill.

I Didn't Want To Leave
On That Cold, Dark, Night,
This Guardian Of Honor
So Willing To Fight.

Then The Soldier Rolled Over,
With A Voice Soft And Pure,
Whispered, "Carry On Santa,
It's Christmas Day, All Is Secure."

One Look At My Watch,
And I Knew He Was Right.
"Merry Christmas My Friend,
And To All A Good Night."

Written by Lance Corporal James M. Schmidt in 1986.

Now to continue on with the hop, you will need to head over to Kerri's blog.
