A Victoria Case Sneak Peek

Ok, so it isn't really a peek.. it is the whole card, I couldn't help it.. I LOVE HER!!!! You see, my other passion is cooking. I have a dream of being a personal chef one day... when we leave Alaska. So this lil darling holds a special place in my heart. Thanks, Vic... she's fabulous!!!

It doesn't show too well in these photos, but her hat and her bowl are popped out on pop dots. The card has some dimension to it.

Today is a busy day! We are getting ready for National Scrapbook Day at the store and have a lot of new stuff to put out. I have make and takes to prepare and some signs to make. I'm just glad my lil one is feeling better finally. She's back to her sassy lil self. I have a list of challenges to complete that is a mile long.. it seems. But I love doing them. Sometimes I get 'stuck' and can always find a challenge of some sort to boost my creativity. And plus.. ya can win stuff. :)

Any plans for the weekend? Anyone participating in National Scrapbook Day?

Modern Sugar Blvd. - Vacuum Gal

She was fun to do. I added some flock to her slippers... I mean, who hasn't at one time owned a pair of fuzzy slippers???

I also added some shimmerz to the vacuum. The flowers are from Close to My Heart and the pearls are from Kaisercraft. The ribbon is some I picked up at Michaels a few months ago. The sentiment is from Hanna Stamps, I thought it was appropriate, and it is my motto! *grin*

Sneak Peek!! Modern Sugar Blvd...

Here is a TINY peek. *giggle* Cruel, I know, but you will love it when the store opens on April 20th!

MODERN SUGAR BLVD.

Tuesday, April 14, 2009

I'm gonna be a busy girl!

I just found out that I made the design team for Modern Sugar Blvd! I'm stoked. And I will be working with a fabulous group of talented artists. I'm so wowed to be part of this group. Thanks for the opportunity, Candie! It is so exciting.

In the morning I will give a tiny peek of what you can expect from Modern Sugar Blvd. The store will be opening April 2oth. I can't wait to see all that Candie has in store for us. Check out the MSB blog for the freebie that Candie had posted. I would love to see what you come up with using her.

On another note, if you could keep me in your thoughts, I would appreciate it. I had a tummy tuck in October and it seems I have developed a hernia in the upper part of my belly. I have to go in for a CT scan to make sure. Thanks a bunch!

I was traveling today so I don't have any cards to share, although, I did get to shop in 'the real world'. I went to our sister store... The Craft Garden in Wasilla and picked up some fabulous paper from Adorn It! I can't wait to use it. Then I went to the Stamp Attic in Anchorage and got some new Prima flowers and a Memento black ink pad... full size. I have been using my lil Memento Dew Drop and love them. Then I got to browse the aisles at Michaels and got some more flowers and some super cute Studio G fairy stamps. I even bought some tank tops at Old Navy. So other than having to fly in rough weather and on a super small plane, it was an ok day. The weather in Anchorage was nice... almost 50 degrees and no rain or snow. It is blowing/snowing/raining here on the island... mostly blowing and raining.

I am gearing up for National Scrapbook Day at the store. It should be a great time!

I added a few dew drops, too.

I hope that you will join us and play along.... did I mention a chance to win a lil something, too?????

New digistamps from Victoria Case

Victoria just released a new set of digistamps. I don't think I could pick a favorite. I am loving her pin up style girls, but the barnyard animals are quite darling. Here is one I made last night.

And here is Nurse Betty (that is what we call her) I thought this would make a good gift bag for a guy who wasn't feeling well. *giggle*

Last night we had Carlie's birthday party at the Craft Garden and it was a total blast. The girls made mini albums, ate pizza & cakeballs, and giggled uncontrollably. It was awesome! Today I'm working on some DT projects and watching the "no accumulation" of snow (says Wunderground) end up being about 6" so far... and it is coming down hard. I am suppose to work today at the store. I better get out there and start shoveling. *sigh* I'm ready for our other season... NOT QUITE WINTER. LOL Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend and a very Happy Easter.

This is our backyard at the moment. (Taken today) and yes, that is a 4 foot fence. My dogs walk out over the fence. Crazy, huh?!

Digital Tuesday DT Call

Digital Tuesday Challenge is looking for DT members. The call information can be found HERE.

I'm a huge fan of digistamps. For me, I love the instant gratification, being able to manipulate them to the size I want, and they are fun to use. I hate waiting on shipping to Alaska. And with our weather lately not to mention the volcano, mail hasn't been the most reliable.

I made the top 20

Remember the DT call for Modern Sugar Blvd. that I posted about, thinking I had missed the deadline???? Well, I made it to the top 20. I have 2 images to create with for the 'final call'. I will be able to share a small sneeky peeky with ya. Trust me, they are super cute!

Monkeys and Monsters, oh my!

I had a bunch of images that I had colored over the weekend that needed to be made into cards. I did another card for the Challenge on the Squigglefly yahoo group. The theme was red/black/white. I love this monkey (or is he a gorilla?) The card is simple again, but he was fun to color.

This one is Monster Bedtime, a rubber stamp from Victoria Case. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! - Sage Advice. I think the sparkly purple slippers are fabulous! *grin* Victoria has new digistamps to be released on April 10th.

I also did the Pollycraft Monday Challenge. The challenge was to use one of the Pollycraft downloads.

And I need to do a birthday card for my oldest. She's 11 tomorrow. I can't believe she is 11 already!

Cupcake Craft Challenge

I have been really trying to improve my layouts and cards by doing more challenges. I know that means more posts for y'all to read, and I'm sorry. :) This is for this week's Cupcake Craft challenge.

Modern Sugar Blvd.

"OPENING SOON" http://www.modernsugarblvd.com/

They had a DT call, but I missed the deadline. I did play along anyway, though. Their image was too cute not to use. I made a gift card holder using her. I paper pieced her dress and her scarf. I put crystal effects on her boots to give them that patent leather look.

Squigglefly Challenge

Paper: GP White, SU Basic Black, American Crafts Red
Accessories: Copic Markers, Oval Punches, Silver Cord, Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Sakura Stardust Pen, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder

Stamp Something Easter Challenge - Bunni

Ok, this one made me laugh. I had an idea and just went with it. This is an Easter Gift Bag for Hubby. Think he'll like it???? *giggle* I added Flock to her Bunni Ears and Tail. Bunni (yes with an "I") is a digistamp from Victoria Case.

Here is a close up of Bunni. To see the flock, hopefully it shows up.

WHIMSY STAMPS BLOG HOP

I'm so glad you joined us in this Whimsy Stamps Blog Hop. I really hope you have enjoyed all of the Design Team blogs. The DT Girls are definitely inspriational! My card is made using the Whimsy Owl. Our "theme" was punches. I used the Bigz Top Note die. I also got to break out my new long rectangle nestabilities. I just got my first nesties, and boy, are they fun!! I colored him with copic markers. The green paper is embossed with the Cuttlebug leaf folder. The paper is from American Crafts. And to finish it off... some velvet ric-rac and pearls. The sentiment is from Gina K.

To complete the blog hop and enter the fabulous blog candy giveaway, you need to head back to Denise's blog. Thanks for Hoppin' with Whimsy Stamps!!
