Back in the swing of things

I had surgery in October and am now back to feeling almost normal. Everything went well, with the exception of some swelling which required me to travel to Anchorage every week for 5 weeks. I'm so done with flying!!!

Here's a lil something I did recently.
Snowbunny Bella just seems perfect for this. And the sentiment is from Hanna Stamps. Colored with copic markers and the spica glitter marker.

Oops... sorry it has been a while

I guess that is what happens when you work! I recently got a job managing a new stamp and scrapbook store here in Kodiak. I LOVE IT!! It is my dream job. Madeline goes to work with me for 4 hours a day. Jacob and Carlie are in school. I'm home by the time Jacob gets off the bus.

You can check out the store at www.thecraftgardenkodiak.blogspot.com

The most wonderful time of the year...... *sing it with me*

Yep, it is back to school time!!! And an exciting time around our household. Jacob is starting Kindergarten. whoo hoo!! Carlie is in a 5/6 split class and really looking forward to the school year.

It will just be Madeline and me at home. :) Lots of time for crafting!!!!

I have been searching for new and exciting projects to keep me busy this fall. I have my Tuesday night CraftNites and I look forward to that every week! We have a great group of gals who get together. I have some great projects in store for those Tuesday nights.

After kinda burning out... I'm back!

I'm so sorry it has been so long since my last update. I think I really just got tired of stamping. *gasp* But yeah, I did.

But with the new catalog, I'm recharged and ready for my hostess club to start up again. And I can't wait to place that first order of new stamps!

May Hostess Club projects

I can't believe it is time for our next hostess club today! Jeff took the kiddos off to play on his new 'toy'.

Jeff's new mistress is a 2008 Polaris Ranger Crew. It will hold our entire family. Getting it to the house yesterday was a huge ordeal, but that's another post/vent!!!

So our projects for today are really fun. (I think) The first one is a tribute to one of my favorite bloggers, Faith Hofrichter!! Her cards are amazing and her stories about her son, Markie, are hilarious!!

The second card is another man card. This set is from the 2008 Spring Occasions Mini.

And our scrapbook page is featuring the Neighborhood jumbo wheel. How fun is this??? The clouds were made using the retired Clouds, Moon, Stars stencil, but you could easily make one yourself out of cardstock or chipboard. I chalked around the clouds.

Happy Mother's Day

Sorry it has been a while between posts. We had a nasty bug go thru the house. Carlie was down for a good week and I've had no voice for about 3 days now. I don't feel bad, just a lil tired and I sound horrible.

I'm so behind on stamping projects. I'm hoping to spend this afternoon catching up. I have Teacher Appreciation gifts to do, my mom's mother's day gift to finish. I really need to sort thru things and bag up some past Hostess club projects.

My BFF, Lisa, was so wonderful and used her alcohol inks to color some of the baubles (skittles) from Michaels. So now I have some really cool colors! Lisa has a great blog too! Go check out her blog, and leave her a comment telling her I sent you there!!! http://islandhoppingfoustcrafts.blogspot.com/ She is getting ready to head to St. Croix, US Virgin Islands! I'm gonna miss her something fierce, but at least I'll have somewhere warm to visit when the winters here in Kodiak get to be too much!!!

So how are you spending your Mother's Day? I need to help Carlie finish up her sewing project for 4H. Carlie gave me my gift she made at school. They were page pebble magnets with flowers she drew underneath. Her comment.... "Markers and wet glue don't mix". Her coloring ran a little, but they are absolutely adorable! I love them. She made me an oragami box to keep them in, too. Bubba gave me an envelope of 'cards' he colored. His comment ... "Since I can't just go and use your stamps, I used my crayons instead. See, here, I drew you a stamp". Geesh, I love my kiddos!

Happy May Day!

Ok.. it is MAY can it pleaaaaase stop snowing?! I'm done with it! I want sunshine! (we had a little teaser of nice weather a couple weeks ago) I would love to see my flowers that are trying to push up thru the snow. I love living here in Alaska, but dang, sometimes the weather drives me batty. Heck, I'll settle for rain (no wind, please) over the snow.

So, I've decided that while it is ugly outside I will work on organizing. I think I may have come across a solution for my ribbon that is not on spools... you know those pieces that are stuffed in drawers and in ziploc bags. *giggle* I HAVE A RIBBON PROBLEM. There! I said it. My name is Jana, and ribbon is my downfall. But as soon as I get it all sorted I will post pictures. Hubby is building me two more long tables!

I have some great classes planned for this spring/summer. This week I need to work on Teacher Appreciation gifts and Mother's day gifts.

Now is a great time to join Stampin' Up!
